Today is an important day.
The Waiata/Anthems Coalition launch the release of 27 new waiata in Te Reo Māori to kick off Waiata Anthems Week, running from September 6-12.
From today, our airwaves and digital streaming services will be alive with the vibrant sound of new and reimagined waiata to promote a truly bilingual music industry in Aotearoa New Zealand. The 27 waiata released today join the already released songs: ‘Pepeha’ by SIX60 and ‘Ko Te Hīnātoretanga’ by Hollie Smith and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
