Coterie Release New Single ‘Killing It Off’ Ahead of Tonight’s Final Leg of Six60’s Australian Tour

Hailing from Perth on the peaceful coastline of Western Australia, Coterie launch their powerful new single ‘Killing It Off’ as they wrap an explosive run of Australian shows with Kiwi legends Six60 tonight at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.

Roadtested to packed-out arenas on the eight-date nationwide tour, ‘Killing It Off’ gives us more of Coterie’s soulful melodic power and surf-infused groove we’ve come to know and love via their successful debut single ‘Cool It Down’.

Speaking on the recent run of shows, lead vocalist Tyler Fisher says: “To come out of the (pandemic) gates playing 45mins of unreleased music to 5000 + people at a time and feel nothing but love… it’s been unreal and we’re stoked on the warm response!”

‘Cool It Down’ has spent over 3 months in NZ’s Top 10 Radio Airplay chart, peaking at #3 overall and spending over 3 weeks at #1 in the Official New Zealand Hot Singles chart. Showing no signs of stopping, Coterie have amassed more than 5 million streams, over 250k YouTube views and upwards of 40k TikTok followers, while forming a steadily growing army of fans in their wake.

With undeniable on-stage power, word of Coterie’s electrifying live performances is getting around. The four Māori siblings of Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Te Rāngi descent share a unique bond formed from over 15 years of jamming together.

Records made in their lounge room tell stories through lyrics drawn from real-life experiences while melodically rich vocals bring a raw narrative heat to the songs. Immersed in a culture of surf and art, the band have developed a unique blend of soulful rock music with perfect 4 harmonies that have audiences demanding more.

Coterie blends an authentic mix of surf rock, soul, R&B, roots/reggae and the blues into heartfelt melodies that unite audiences by a mysterious power. Between lead singer Tyler’s powerhouse vocals, bassist Brandford’s playful low end to Joshua’s all-encompassing mood and Conrad’s powerful percussion, Coterie are a musical force to be reckoned with.
