Coterie are the first band to be signed to Six60’s newly launched record label, Massive Records. To commemorate this working partnership and celebrate the release of their debut album, Coterie shares a heartwarming future anthem ‘Always Beside You’.
Continuing on the road, Coterie support Six60 on the Christchurch leg of Six60 Saturdays, following shows in Wellington, Napier and Auckland, which saw scores of fans around the country connect with the loveable quartet.
Following a packed few years of hard work involving a relentless live schedule on both sides of the Tasman, Perth’s band of brothers share a hearty kete of music that will fill the backdrop of your summer, whether you’re in Aotearoa or Australia.
“To us, this album is summer, late night drives down the coast with the crew, that first hit of summer sun on your face,” says frontman Tyler.
Part of the album was written at Mangawhai with Six60. The remainder of the album was written at home on Perth’s sunny western coastline.
“We went home and finished the record in our home studio [in Perth] sharing files with Robby Desa in Sydney and Marlon Gerbes (Six60) in Auckland, adding finishing touches with Raul Lopez and Hector Vega in Los Angeles.”
Perth-based, Māori brothers Tyler, Josh, Brandford & Conrad (Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi & Ngāi Te Rangi) hit it big this year with their platinum-selling, debut single ‘Cool It Down’ which went #1 across NZ Radio, Shazam, and the NZ Hot 20 Singles chart. Going from strength to strength and gaining a loyal fanbase at home in Aotearoa and Australia, Coterie have pulled in over 10 million streams and over 1.7 million YouTube views.
